The women’s health hub provides a comprehensive range of services related to pregnancy and sexual health, ensuring holistic care. We offer expert guidance and treatment for various sexual health concerns, including contraception, counseling, and post-abortion care. Our mission is to provide compassionate support and accessible services for individuals seeking abortion and reproductive health care.
At The women’s health hub, we prioritize providing women with comprehensive information to make informed and voluntary decisions regarding their pregnancy options. If a woman chooses abortion, we offer detailed insights into available abortion methods and provide clarity on what to expect throughout the process.
We understand that some patients may already be certain about their decision and seek specific information about abortion methods and outcomes. On the other hand, we also support women who wish to explore their pregnancy options further and seek guidance in making a well-informed decision.
Urine pregnancy tests are affordable, user-friendly, and highly reliable, with an accuracy rate of 97%. These tests are widely accessible at local supermarkets and pharmacies. For optimal results, it is recommended to perform a pregnancy test one week after a missed period. If the initial test yields a negative result, it is advisable to repeat the test after a week using concentrated urine.
At The women’s health hub, we offer pregnancy testing services to confirm pregnancies. In some cases, we may also perform blood tests to verify early pregnancy viability or assess potential miscarriage. Our clinic ensures accurate and thorough diagnostic procedures to provide the necessary confirmation and guidance.
While the procedure is generally straightforward for most healthy women, there are instances where the need arises to address a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).
The most commonly encountered genital infections, such as Candidiasis (thrush), Chlamydia, and bacterial vaginosis, are promptly diagnosed. If you are having an unusual smelling discharge or think you could possibly have an STI please let us know, and we will send a laboratory request form for STI swabbing to be done at your local laboratory. If this result is positive for a sexually transmitted infection then we will arrange for a prescription to be sent to your local pharmacy to treat the relevant infections.
Our dedicated team ensures comprehensive STI management alongside the abortion procedure, prioritizing your sexual health and overall well-being.
We provide contraception services, which include the pill, condoms, and depo Provera. However, we currently do not offer long-acting contraception options such as IUDs. We plan to add IUD services in the near future, but for now, we can provide information on other contraception methods and discuss your preferences during your appointment.
In addition to our comprehensive services, we can provide a prescription for the oral contraceptive pill for a nominal fee. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to ask.
All patients will have an ultrasound examination at the clinic to confirm the age of the pregnancy and to find out whether the pregnancy is in the right place (to rule out an ectopic pregnancy).Another contraception option we offer is the Contraceptive Implant. This can be inserted whilst you are having your abortion procedure, or we can make a separate appointment for this procedure.
If you do require a Contraceptive Implant, please discuss this when you make your appointment.
An Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) is a small device inserted into the uterus by a doctor. It lasts for 5 years and has the effect of killing off sperm, at the same time as changing the lining of the uterus to prevent the attachment of a fertilised egg. If you want to fall pregnant before the end of the 5 years, the device can be removed by a doctor.
Our doctors perform IUCD insertions and removals and have two different types available. If you’re interested in fitting an IUCD you should discuss this with us when you make your appointment so you can have it done at the same time as your procedure.
At The women’s health hub, we prioritize providing comprehensive information about sexual health. If you suspect an STI, seek medical attention for testing and treatment. We empower individuals to make informed decisions for their sexual well-being.
Please note: The women’s health hub does not conduct medical procedures or testing for STIs. We solely provide knowledge and resources to support your sexual health journey.
