Pregnancy brings with it a myriad of emotions. Whether intentional or unexpected, you will likely be experiencing a range of thoughts and feelings. The Women’s Health Hub offers a variety of services to provide support and guidance as you navigate this complex time.
We provide education and support to help you understand your options and make informed decisions. View our services below.
Before you decide how to approach your situation, you must understand what it means for you and your body. Our experienced, sensitive team can educate you on the physical and emotional implications and how decisions about moving forward may impact your future. This will help you determine whether continuing your pregnancy is the right fit for you, your lifestyle and your ambitions.
It is important to remember that this is your body and your choice alone to make. No one should pressure you into proceeding with or ending the pregnancy. Women have two options when it comes to decisions about pregnancy:
End the pregnancy: We can talk you through the process of ending your pregnancy and what to expect in the aftermath, physically and emotionally. If you decide this option is best for you, contact us as soon as possible to discuss the next steps.
Continue with the pregnancy: If you have decided to continue, we can provide pregnancy care and help you find a midwife. We can also offer advice on adoption, fostering and Whangai if you do not intend to keep the child with you after the birth.
It is crucial you arm yourself with the necessary information to make an informed decision about continuing with your pregnancy or ending it. Consider pregnancy’s practical and emotional aspects and spend time contemplating your options.
You should not feel rushed into making a decision. Try to avoid pressure from external parties—this is your choice to make, not someone else’s. If you would like a confidential discussion about your situation, please contact one of our kind, professional staff members. We can offer advice and support or simply listen to you express your thoughts and feelings.
If you decide to continue to full term, know that we will support you throughout. We provide comprehensive pregnancy care for the first and second trimester, which includes ordering blood tests, booking ultrasounds, and providing emotional support. We will also help you find a suitable midwife who appreciates your position.
Contact the wonderful team at Gianna’s Choice if you require more in-depth support services or comprehensive counselling. They provide a safe space for confidential discussions should you opt out of continuing with your pregnancy.
