Abortion Care for Non-Residents in Northland & Bay of Islands

Phone consultations are available for non-residents, including people in New Zealand on visitor visas, working holiday visas, student visas and other temporary visas, where clinically suitable. You do not need a GP referral to contact us.

If you are staying in Whangārei, Kerikeri, Paihia, Russell, the Bay of Islands or elsewhere in Northland and need abortion care while visiting, studying or working in New Zealand, you can contact The Women’s Health Hub directly. Our physical clinic is in Howick, Southeast Auckland; phone consultations are available for clinically suitable non-residents.

Northland attracts both international visitors and seasonal workers. Kerikeri and the Far North also have recurring horticultural work, including citrus, avocado, berries and kiwifruit. If you are moving between jobs or accommodation, tell us where you are staying so we can plan laboratory testing, imaging or travel if needed.

Private early medical abortion care

Our private pathway for people who are not eligible for funded care is NZ$500. External hCG testing through Awanui Labs or Pathlab is paid directly to the laboratory. Ultrasound or in-person assessment may be required depending on your symptoms and clinical history.
