Abortion Care for Non-Residents Across New Zealand
Phone consultations are available for non-residents, including people in New Zealand on visitor visas, working holiday visas, student visas and other temporary visas, where clinically suitable. You do not need a GP referral to contact us.
The Women’s Health Hub provides private early medical abortion care for people who are not eligible for publicly funded care in New Zealand. Our only physical clinic is at 139 Union Road, Howick, Southeast Auckland. Phone consultations are available for clinically suitable non-residents from elsewhere in New Zealand, with laboratory testing, ultrasound or in-person assessment arranged when required.
Our private early medical abortion pathway is NZ$500. External hCG testing may be completed through Awanui Labs or Pathlab and is paid directly to the laboratory; charges vary and may be approximately NZ$60 where applicable.

Visitors, international students and seasonal workers
People travelling, studying or working temporarily in New Zealand can contact an abortion provider directly. You do not need a GP referral. Whether you qualify for publicly funded healthcare depends on your immigration and eligibility circumstances; if you are not eligible, we can explain our private pathway.

Travelling to New Zealand from the Pacific Islands
We also receive enquiries from people travelling to New Zealand from Pacific Island countries where abortion access may be legally restricted. If you are travelling from Fiji, Samoa or Tonga, contact us before making travel arrangements where possible so we can explain appointment availability, private costs and what may be required once you are in New Zealand.
